The article constitutes a polemic with Krzysztof Kwiatkowski’s attempt to describe the reaction of subjects of the Teutonic Order in Prussia to the battle of Grunwald in cultural terms. The presentation of man, his culture and social behavior in behavioral terms is considered incorrect. The source value of Annales by Jan Długosz for the reconstruction of facts of this kind also raises doubts, because the source was created over half a century after the discussed events took place.
