Małe i średnie przedsiębiorstwa (MSP) na całym świecie odgrywają kluczową rolę w budowaniu wzrostu gospodarczego i innowacyjności we wszystkich branżach. Zrównoważony rozwój sektora MSP ma kluczowe znaczenie dla rozwoju gospodarki każdego państwa. To właśnie mali i średni przedsiębiorcy tworzą najwięcej miejsc pracy na rynku, wykazując się pomysłowością i zaangażowaniem, co też bardzo często owocuje wypracowaniem nowych, zaawansowanych technologii. W konkluzji, firmy z tego segmentu gospodarki przyczyniają się także do rozwijania rynku globalnego. MSP są jednak bardzo podatne na negatywne wpływy otoczenia gospodarczego i politycznego. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest podkreślenie znaczenia sektora MSP dla krajowej gospodarki jak i dla pozostałych państw członkowskich Unii Europejskiej.

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) around the world play a key role in the growth and innovation in all sectors. The sustainable development of the SME sector is crucial for the development of the economy of each country. It is small and medium businesses create most of the jobs on the market, showing ingenuity and commitment, which often results in the development of new, advanced technology. In conclusion, companies of this segment of the economy also contribute to the development of the global market. SMES, however, are highly susceptible to the negative influence of the economic and political environment. The purpose of this article is to highlight the importance of the SME sector for the national economy as well as for the other Member States of the European Union.
