Artykuł omawia proces digitalizacji dokumentacji fonograficznej opartej na doświadczeniach Archiwum Państwowego w Lublinie

EN

In the first place, the author presents the history of sound recording and reviews briefly different sound carriers. Next, he demonstrates goals, methods, and technical solutions applied for converting an analogue sound into a digital format. Among others, phonograhic documentation which was produced and collected by the Lublin-based com-munist institution undergoes digitalization in National Archives in Lublin. The article includes the methodology used in this field by archivists from Lublin. They realize that all contemporary technologies used for digital archiving are insufficiently developed. Therefore, the access to archival resources will be possibile as long as they are transferred to the latest formats.
