The bone material under analysis was recovered during rescue excavations carried out an Early Iron Age burial site located in Szemud, Wejherowo district. Unfortunately, it was not possible in every case to determine the age and sex of buried individuals, and a significant margin of error should be taken into account in cases when it was possible (see tables in the article). The results of conducted analysis are as follows. In the urn from cist stone grave no.16 skeletal remains of male (age: Maturus) were put. A small burial accompanying vessel, located in the strict neighbourhood of the stone construction of this grave, had cremated bones belonging probably to an infant. In the next cist stone grave – no. 24 – there were six urns and each of them contained skeletal remains of single individual. In the first vessel bones of young man (age: around 20 years old, Juvenis) were recorded, in the second urn there were remains of women (Juvenis / Adultus) and in the third urn a young male (age: 12 year old +/- 30 months, Infans II) was buried. In case of bones from the fourth vessel, it was only possible to determine that they belonged to a mature person, however a visible inflammation of the tibia was observed during analysis. Similar situation was with the skeletal remains from the next two urns (no. 5 and 6) where cremated bones of individuals in age 8 (+/-24 months, Infans II) were put, with probable enamel hypoplasia recorded in one case (urn no. 6). In the next burial – an alleged, however destroyed cist stone grave (object no. 19) – only a trace of bones was recorded, and it was impossible to determine whether they belonged to human or animal. The last object interpreted as a burial – pit grave no. 3 – contained only small number of skeletal remains, and because of poor state of preservation it was impossible to find more details. Remains of bones were also discovered in object no.44, described as alleged settlement pit or non-grave object linked with structure of burial site, however it is also impossible to determine whether they belong to human or animal.
