Celem artykułu jest próba odpowiedzi na pytanie o luterańską tożsamość w dzisiejszym świecie na podstawie dokumentu Usprawiedliwienie i wolność, przygotowującego protestantów duchowo i organizacyjnie do uroczystości 500-lecia reformacji. Reformacja była wydarzeniem historycznym, które wpłynęło na kulturowe, społeczne i polityczne oblicze Europy. W centrum teologicznych wypowiedzi reformatorów znajduje się kwestia relacji Bóg–człowiek, a fundamentem ruchu z XVI wieku stało się usprawiedliwieni e, które trzeba ujmować przez pryzmat miłości, uznania i docenienia, przebaczenia i wolności, aby zweryfikować wiarygodność doświadczenia iustificatio. Reformacja nie jest czymś zamkniętym, ale stanowi proces odnowy w duchu reformacyjnym. Teologia protestancka wyraża się w pięciu zasadach: solus Christus, sola gratia, solo verbo, sola scriptura i sola fide. Przez te elementy podjęto próbę przeniesienia idei usprawiedliwienia na obecny czas. Świętowanie 500-lecia reformacji ma się odbyć w rozsądnej równowadze między tradycją a innowacją, nie ignorując głębokiego znaczenia reformacji dla teraźniejszości. Dokument Usprawiedliwienie i wolność podejmujący temat usprawiedliwienia z łaski przez wiarę w Chrystusa poddano krytyce.

This article attempts to answer the question of Lutheran identity in today’s world on the basis of a document preparing spiritually and organizationally Protestants for the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation Justification and freedom. The Reformation was a historical event that influenced the cultural, social and political face of Europe. The Reformation was a historical event that influenced the cultural, social and political face of Europe. In the center of theological expression of reformers is a matter of relations between the God man, and the foundation of the movement of the sixteenth century it became an excuse that need to be put through the prism of love, recognition and appreciation, forgiveness and freedom in order to verify the credibility of the experience iustificatio. The Reformation is not something closed, but a process of renewal in the spirit of the Reformation. Protestant theology is expressed in five principles: solus Christus, sola gratia, solo verbo, sola scriptura and sola fide. Through these elements attempted to transfer the idea of justification for this time. Celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Reformation is to be done in a sensible balance between tradition and innovation, without ignoring the profound significance of the Reformation to the present. The document Justification and freedom taking the theme of justification by grace through faith in Christ have been criticized.
