The aim of the article is to describe and analyse the data from a research project “Subjective, transgenerational and environmental conditions of health behavior among young adults” run by a team from the Institute of Psychology at the Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznan in 2011–2013. Attention was paid to broaden the perspective of already existing analyzes and theoretical models with extra-subjective transgenarational factors – family rituals, so far treated usually as a transgenerational risk factors of psychopathology. The studies shoved, that some aspects of family rituals – taking a part in rituals, their meaning and importance to the family members and the frequency of ritual behavior were a significant predictors of young adult current pro-healthy behaviour and also of their pro-healthy plans for the future. In conclusion we suggested some general recommendations for educational policy concerned “ritualization” of school as a method of health promotion and risk prevention.
