The aim of the article is to investigate the innovative health technologies in the activity of a Physical Education (PE) teacher. The study of literature indicates the usage of a wide range of health technologies in sport and health promotion practice in modern school. Nonetheless the children’s health status deteriorates daily. A teacher of PE can make a difference by using health technologies not only as a part of PE classes but out-of-school activity. During PE classes we offer to combine innovative health technologies with the implementation of the program «Physical Education. 1-4 forms of contemporary school». This program includes two sections. Disclosing the content of the first section «Theoretical and Methodological Training» a PE trainer may teach the pupils the basics of hygienic morning exercises, breathing exercises, and tempering methods using cartoons, movies and animations. The second section of the program includes seven areas, each of which can have a health promotion background. «School of motion culture with the elements of gymnastics» can be realized through stretching, Callanetics, Pilates, and sound exercises. «School of movement» can be carried out by varieties of dancing movements and «School of ball» by football exercises or by the elements of calisthenics. «School of jumps» is implemented through the exercises of health-improving aerobics and rope-skipping, and «School of active rest» – through diverse exercises of psychogymnastics, music and color therapy. «School of physical qualities promotion» can be realized through yoga, slide aerobics, and fitness as well as «School of posture» can be carried out by the elements of remedial gymnastics, yoga, and choreography. A modern PE teacher can control sport and health promotion process in extracurricular time creating his own section on school web page thereby communicating with parents and placing information about sport and health promotion events. So, a teacher of PE can significantly contribute to pupils’ health formation and promotion. In the perspective of further scientific investigations we plan to broaden the recommendations as for the e-database creation in health promotion sector for pupils and their parents.
