Eliminacja przemocy wobec dzieci staje się obecnie niezwykle istotnym zadaniem wielu demokratycznych społeczeństw. Co więcej, ze względu na zakres problemu i jego konsekwencje zadanie to znalazło się w Agendzie na rzecz zrównoważonego rozwoju 2030 określonej w Celach Zrównoważonego Rozwoju. Poza zasadniczym działaniem, jakim jest wprowadzenie bezwzględnej ochrony prawnej dzieci przed wszelkimi formami przemocy, w tym karami cielesnymi, na świecie podejmowane są różne inicjatywy ukierunkowane na eliminację przemocy w stosunku do dzieci. Doświadczenia państw pokazują bowiem, że same reformy prawne nie wystarczą. Wśród licznych propozycji szczególne miejsce zajmują działania profilaktyczne. Profilaktyka jest bowiem postrzegana jako najbardziej obiecujący rodzaj działań w walce z problemem. Jej organizowanie opiera się z jednej strony na wiedzy o uwarunkowaniach przemocy wobec dzieci i ustalonych w badaniach czynnikach ryzyka zjawiska, a z drugiej – na analizach praktyki oraz międzynarodowej współpracy i wymianie doświadczeń. W artykule przedstawiono inicjatywę Rady Państw Morza Bałtyckiego, w ramach której wypracowano zarówno podstawowe założenia profilaktyki, jak i szczegółowe wskazania w kilku obszarach jej realizacji.

Elimination of violence against children is becoming an important task in democratic societies. Moreover, due to the extent of the problem and its consequences it has been placed in the Agenda 2030 Sustainable Developmental Goals. Despite the fundamental action, which is the reform of the law and the introduction of the full protection of children from all forms of violence, among them corporal punishment, many different initiatives on eliminating violence against children in childrearing are undertaken all around the world. Experiences of many countries have shown, that law reforms are not enough. Within many proposals of actions, the prevention is seen as the most promising type of activities. It is organized as based on the knowledge about the determinants of violence and research in this area on a one hand, and on the analysis of practice and international co-operation and sharing in this field, on the other hand. In the paper the initiative of the CBSS the special project where some basic assumptions and detailed indications on the prevention of violence in childrearing have been overworked just in international collaboration, is presented
