In the article the author discusses the presence of the oeuvre of Howard Phillips Lovecraft (1890–1937) on the Polish publishing market. He presents an outline of Lovecraft’s biography and analyses his creative output in its various sections. Next, he discusses the presence of H.P. Lovecraft’s works on the Polish publishing market in chronological order. In addition, he presents the most important editions published in successive periods of the writer’s life. This is followed by a summing up of the presence of Lovecraft’s works in Poland, taking into account the typological division of the publications, and of analyses of Lovecraft’s life and work on the Polish publishing market. In conclusion, the author of the article tries to answer the question concerning the link between the popularity of the oeuvre in question and its actual presence on the Polish publishing market.
