Artykuł wskazuje na biopsychospołeczne uwarunkowania rozwoju i zdrowia dzieci, bowiem w szerokim ujęciu zdrowie to poczucie dobrostanu fizycznego, psychicznego i społecznego.

In child-oriented education not only intellectual, but also physical and social development are of crucial importance. The article stresses the biopsychosocial determinant factors of children’s health and development, since broadly speaking — health is the sense of physical, mental and social well-being. In this context, it is curious whether music may positively influence health via the areas mentioned above. The article presents an overview of Polish and world research results documenting the beneficial influence of music in the biological, mental and social spheres of a human being. The research familiarizes the reader with the issue of the influence of music on healthy people, as well as on patients with various somatic and mental diseases. Music therapy, which puts emphasis not only on the therapy of disorders, but also on development, takes advantage of this versatile role of music. Music therapy of children with various disorders may only be conducted by an appropriately skilled specialist. However, music therapy may also be used to promote widely understood development of various cognitive, emotional or social skills. Thus, there is a possibility of a music teacher using selected elements of child-oriented music therapy, with special emphasis on the aims of activities performed.
