Rodzicielstwo, jak każdy inny obszar aktywności człowieka, można analizować z perspektywy sposobu jego realizowania. Biorąc pod uwagę, że pełnienie roli rodzicielskiej ma znacznie zarówno dla dorosłych, jak i dla zachowania i rozwoju dziecka, poszukiwanie metod opisujących styl realizacji rodzicielstwa wydaje się szczególnie istotne. Zauważalny deficyt metod empirycznych odnoszących się do działań rodzicielskich, tym bardziej uzasadnia takie poszukiwania. Z tego względu podjęto próbę stworzenia narzędzia, w którym kategorią różnicującą sposób pełnienia roli matki lub ojca uczyniono zaangażowanie w rodzicielstwo. W artykule zaprezentowano pojęcie zaangażowania, jego operacjonalizację oraz autorski Kwestionariusz Zaangażowania Rodzicielskiego.

Parenting, like any other area of human activity, can be analyzed from the perspective of how the fulfillment of role is. Taking into account that the parental role is important both for adults and for the behavior and development of the child, the search for methods of describing the implementation of the parenting style seems to be particularly important. Noticeable deficit of empirical methods relating to parental actions, the more justified the search. For this reason, an attempt to create a tool, in which differentiating category of mother’ and father’s role is involvement in parenting was taken. The paper presents the concept of involvement, the operationalization and author’s Parental Involvement Questionnaire.
