Koszty pośrednie spowodowane absencją chorobową bądź prezenteizmem pracowników w polskich analizach ekonomicznych są uwzględniane sporadycznie. Nie szacuje się wielkości utraconego PKB na skutek chorób, przedwczesnych zgonów, długie¬go dochodzenia do zdrowia oraz nie uwzględnia w wycenach farmakoekonomicznych. Brakuje jednolitej metodologii obliczania kosztów pośrednich. Celem opracowania jest oszacowanie, ile gospodarka narodowa Polski traci rocznie PKB z powodu absencji pracujących. Do obliczeń zastosowano metodę kapitału ludzkiego, wykorzystując informacje statystyczne publikowane przez GUS i ZUS. Wielkość utraco¬nego PKB z powodu absencji chorobowej pracujących w badanych latach 2009-2012 wy¬ceniono na ok. 70-90 mld PLN.

Indirect costs due to sickness absence or presenteeism of employees are oc¬casionally included in the Polish economic analyzes. The size of GDP doesn’t show the lost resulting from the diseases, premature deaths or long recoveries. These factors are no taken into account in the pharmacoeconomic analyses too. There is no uniform methodology for calculating indirect costs. The aim of the study is to estimate how much the Polish GDP annually lost due to absenteeism of em-ployees. For calculation, the human capital method are used, based on statistical infor-mation published by the Central Statistical Office and the Social Insurance Institution. Size of GDP lost due to sickness and absence of workers in period 2009-2012 was estimated on about 70-90 billion PLN.
