Ruch ekumeniczny od samego początku akcentował konieczność społecznego zaangażowania. W ostatniej dekadzie znalazło to swe odzwierciedlenie w mocnej krytyce kapitalistycznego porządku społecznego. Artykuł omawia wybrane przykłady krytycznych interpretacji kapitalizmu: Wyznanie z Akry Światowej Wspólnoty Kościołów Reformowanych z 2004 r.. program ekonomii życia Światowej Rady Kościołów oraz ekumeniczny projekt radykalizacji Reformacji z 2014 r. Dąży do wykazania zbieżności w przyjętych założeniach teologicznych i filozoficznych omawianych podejść. Stawia również pytanie o podobieństwa między prezentowanymi refleksjami organizacji ekumenicznych i nauczaniem papieża Franciszka.

The ecumenical movement from the very beginning stressed a significance of the social commitment. It is reflected in the last decade in the harsh criticism of the capitalist social order. Article discusses selected examples of the critical ecumenical interpretation of capitalism: the Accra Confession by the World Communion of Reformed Churches (2004), the programme of economy of life by the World Council of Churches and the radicalizing Reformation ecumenical project (2014). It aims to demonstrate convergences in the theological and philosophical assumptions of the discussed approaches. Furthermore, it asks about similarities between the presented ecumenical reflections and the teaching of the Pope Francis.
