Professional development of the specialist is a continuous process that requires constant work on oneself, one’s professional growth, improvement, accumulation and development of professional and social experience. This is a process that allows a person to be in the center of professional changes, to be in demand throughout one’s professional activity, that is, to be competitive. The competitiveness of a specialist plays not only public, but also personal role, because it provides high professional status and creates the conditions for full-fledged professional activity in the future. The formation of a specialist, in particular a teacher, who is able to create intellectual and moral values needed by modern society, starts in a professional school in the learning process. The important intrinsic characteristic of the teacher, an effective indicator of the success of his professional activity is professional honor, as a component of professional and moral training, continuing professional development and the subject of organizing one’s own attitudes. The professional honor of the teachers is a concept that reflects not only awareness of their own moral values, but also recognition by society. The teacher as a person is not just a member of a particular professional group, but the representative of the society of his time, brought up in a certain spiritual atmosphere, inevitably bears the traits of the society in which he lives. That is why the professional honor of a teacher should also be regarded as a public assessment of the real competencies that are manifested in the process of solving professional duties. In our study the professional honor is considered as a moral category that reflects the authority of the person engaged in certain activities, and associated with the activities of moral merits; as a way of self-awareness in the profession. Professional honor of the future teacher as part of his professional formation is an internal value, self-attitude, as a subject of pedagogical process, based on the awareness of his/her professional importance and is manifested in the ability to be helpful to others. Axiological self-determination of future teachers in the learning process, as a mechanism of development of their professional honor, is provided by reflective interaction with the teacher, classmates, educational material, and professional environment at the university. A multitude of components of this interaction determines the didactic situation of the future teachers’ professional honor upbringing in the learning process.
