Artykuł przedstawia fenomen mądrości rozumianej jako złożona, psychologiczna metakompetencja. Pierwsza jego część jest poświęcona problematyce natury i ontogenezy mądrości, druga zawiera omówienie najważniejszych koncepcji traktujących mądrość jako nadrzędną właściwość wyznaczającą zachowania jednostek. Całość zamyka przegląd badań oraz rozważania nad dyspozycyjnymi czynnikami sprzyjającymi osiąganiu mądrości, zróżnicowanymi w okresie wczesnej, średniej i późnej dorosłości.

The article discusses the phenomenon of wisdom understood as a complex psychological meta-competence. In the first part of the paper the author introduces aspects of the nature of wisdom and its ontogenesis. In the second part she presents the most important concepts of treating wisdom as a supreme property that defines the behavior of individuals. The article ends with an overview of research and reflections on the dispositional factors contributing to the achievement of wisdom, varying in early, middle and late adulthood.
