Artykuł podejmuje próbę wskazania narracji jako efektywnej metody na drodze badania mikro- i małych organizacji. Wychodząc od krótkiego rysu historycznego badań narratywnych oraz w zgodzie z założeniami nurtu interpretatywnego, wskazuje na współcześnie stosowane podejścia w naukach społecznych wykorzystywane w analizie narracji: wywiad, badania etnograficzne i konwersacje/dialog. W sposób szczególny akcentuje rolę języka i zwraca uwagę na konieczność analizy opartej na trzech jego dyscyplinach logicznych: syntaktyce, semantyce i pragmatyce. Całość opracowania kończy wskazanie kierunków przyszłych badań, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem filozofii mixed methods research.

The paper is an attempt to present narrative analysis as an effective method in research on micro and small organizations from theoretical perspective. Beginning with a brief historical outline of narrative research and in accordance with the assumptions of interpretative mainstream, it presents most common contemporary approaches of analysis in social sciences: interviews, ethnographic research, and conversations / dialogue. It focuses on the role of the language and points out to the necessity of analysis, based on its three logical disciplines: syntactic, semantic and pragmatic. The whole paper ends with an indication of the directions of future research, with particular emphasis on the philosophy of mixed methods research.
