The aim of the article is to examine the process of evolution of regional policy model of Poland which has begun since the Polish accession to the European Union in 2004. The field of analyses will be: the actors, objectives and instruments of policy of regional develop ment in Poland. The paper provides theoretical background for research in the field of models of regional policy, like: the neoinstitutionalism theory, theory of Europeanisation and multi-level governance concept. According to the existing models of regional policy: interregional versus intraregional, centralized versus decentralized, competitive versus redistributive, it examines the main features of the current model of regional policy in Poland and the changes it uderwent. This will allow to draw some conclusions for the development of a future model of regional policy in Poland.
