The paper presents the experiences gained based on the project „at home despite the age” the purpose of which was to create the first Model Apartment for Seniors (www.mimowieku. pl). The Model Apartment for Seniors is a dwelling space with solutions, products and technologies enabling older people to keep an independent live style as long possible despite some disabilities which may emerge with the age. The idea originated in Germany, the country with much greater senior population than Poland and where different solutions to support the independence of the senior citizens are widely implemented. One of them are exemplary apartments which are to promote among seniors and their caregivers the solutions and products available on the market and thus, support the silver economy.
