It would seem that there is no common ground between economy and art. Economy is commonly seen as pragmatic discipline, closely connected wih mathematics and complex models, something for "scientific minds" and requiring rather great precision than imagination and fantasy characteristic for artists. However, it turns out that on the one hand economy has in it many aspects that provoke and inspire artists and, on the other hand, art often stimulates economists. Economy and art are both fields offering wide possibilities, and they can complement each other. This article attempts to demonstrate the surprising relationship between those two worlds. The art of management may have much in common with what artist do. The author presents her own observations and findings of other researchers on the subject of developing economist- manager skills on the basis of inspirations from art disciplines.

Wydawać by się mogło, że ekonomia i sztuka nie są ze sobą w żaden sposób związane. Potocznie ekonomia uważana jest za dyscyplinę pragmatyczną, mocno związaną z matematyką i skomplkowanymi modelami, dyscyplinę uprawianą przez umysły ścisłe, wymagającą raczej dużej dokładności, aniżeli wyobraźni i fantazji właściwej dla artystów. Okazuje sie jednak, że z jednej strony, ekonomia zawiera w sobie wiele aspektów, które prowokują i inspirują artystów z drugiej zaś, to sztuka często rozbudza ekonomistów. Ekonomia i sztuka są dziedzinami o szerokich mozliwościach, mogącymi się wzajemnie uzupełniać. Próbą pokazania tej właśnie zaskakującej relacji dwóch światów jest niniejszy atrtykuł. Sztuka zarządzania może mieć wiele wspólnego ze sztuką uprawianą przez artystów. Autor prezentuje własne spostrzeżenia oraz spostrzeżenia innych badaczy w kwestii budowania warsztatu ekonomisty- menedżera na fundamencie odwołań do dziedzin artystycznych.
