Niski poziom wiedzy konsumentów pogłębia poziom sceptycyzmu wobec produktów ekologicznych i utrudnia proces akceptacji wyższych cen. Występuje silny związek między zachowaniami nabywczymi a poziomem zaufania. Gotowość do zapłaty (WTP) jest istotnym predyktorem decyzji o zakupie produktu ekologicznego. Konsumenci będą skłonni zapłacić wyższą cenę, jeśli firmy uzasadnią premię za pośrednictwem korzyści.

The price level of green products is seen as high. Many studies indicate that price is the biggest barrier to buying green products. The low level of consumer knowledge deepens scepticism towards eco-friendly products and the process of accepting higher prices is difficult. There is a strong relation between buying behaviour and trust. Willingness to pay (WTP) is a significant predictor of the decision to buy an organic product. Consumers will be willing to pay a higher price if companies justify the benefit of premium.
