The main object of the article is Polish verb tentegować. It is considered as a representative of a small class of expressions called sometimes proverbs (proverbum). These expressions (like tentegowaćand onaczyć) do not belong to basic Polish vocabulary, they are colloquial (or even dialectal). The author’s aim is to describe (in the preliminary way) syntactic and semantic features of those verbs in terms of the Andrzej Bogusławski’s theory of unit of language.
