The main aim of the studies was to determine whether in the years 2011-2016 in Polish private farms the pigs production and its profitability varied regionally. The analysis showed that in Poland in the discussed period the pigs production was rather unprofitable. However, the largest production of this animals and the relatively highest profitability of it was found in the private farms located in the FADN agricultural region – Mazowsze and Podlasie. The weakest results in this respect were found in private farms from Małopolska and Pogórze, while the second and third positions was taken by farms from Wielkopolska and Śląsk and farms from Pomorze and Mazury. The economic results of pigs production were determined by the relation of the value of production (de facto the sale price of pigs) and the total costs. However, the situation in the pork market in other European Union countries and in the world had also influenced this relation at that time.
