Five of the Rhodian amphora producers, Soteridas, Olympos, Rodippos, Sokrates II and Molesis, used a burning torch as their emblem, which is shown on the stamps of the jars. Their activity occurred between the second half of the 3rd century BC and a little after the first quarter of the 2nd century BC. In the article below I have attempted to answer the question of the significance of the torch appearing on Rhodian amphora stamps in connection with cult of three gods, Artemis, Dionysos and Helios.
