Being tolerant means „not paying attention” (take no note of him) and then establishing, that the aim of tolerating is not to solve a problem, but to “get rid of it” (you are rid of a knave). Tolerance which is reduced to mere “tolerating” is a disease and it is about letting thinks happen according to their own course. Mere “tolerating” may distort the perception of reality. Tolerating may preserve the state of suspension in which the lack of attention entails “getting rid” of problems, and postponing them. One does not take responsibility for reality. The peril of mere “tolerating” lies in the act of restraining a cutaway of a world at the expense of resigning from its other elements, “getting rid” of what is strange or foreign. Tolerating may mean mere “peace of mind”, lack of attention, rejection of an encounter which is a way of shaping the world.
