The notion of social capital requires in-depth analysis in the context of contemporary complex economic reality. The complexity in question calls for the use of interdisciplinary research on the whole variety of aspects of social capital. This article presents the issue of adult education seen as a key ingredient of social capital, especially in view of the aging of the European societies, including Poles.
