Celem niniejszego artykułu jest rozważenie w jaki sposób i w jakim zakresie realizowany jest obowiązek uwzględniania wymogów związanych z ochroną środowiska przyrodniczego w miejscowych planach zagospodarowania przestrzennego. Autor publikacji pragnie również dokonać analizy sposobów i metod uwzględniania przez lokalnych prawodawców przepisów o ochronie przyrody i prawa ochrony środowiskach w planach zagospodarowania przestrzennego. Zamiarem autora jest przeprowadzenie badań na wybranych planach zagospodarowania przestrzennego uchwalonych przez Radę Miasta Olsztyna.

The environment is an element of special legal protection. Already Art. 5 of the Constitution of 2 April 1997 states that the Republic of Poland safeguards the independence and inviolability of its territory, ensures freedoms and human and civil rights and citizens' safety, safeguards national heritage and ensures environmental protection, guided by the principle of sustainable development. However, art. 31 para. 3 of the Basic Law indicates environmental protection as a substantive premise for restricting rights and freedoms. It is also worth mentioning art. 74 par. 2 of the Constitution, which states that environmental protection is the responsibility of public authorities. The legislator undertook, on the basis of the Constitution, to undertake necessary actions not only to protect the environment, but also to maintain a rich natural heritage. The above liabilities are also implemented by implementing the principle of sustainable development, which in its assumptions is to guarantee socio-economic development with respect for environmental protection. The purpose of this article is to consider how and to what extent the obligation to take into account the requirements related to the protection of the natural environment in urban spatial development plans is met. The author of the publication also wishes to analyze the ways and methods of including local lawmakers' laws and environmental protection laws in spatial development plans by local lawmakers. The author's intention is to conduct research on selected spatial development plans adopted by the City Council of Olsztyn
