Kazachstan odgrywa kluczową rolę w polityce energetycznej Chin. Dostęp do bogatych zasobów surowcowych tego państwa, jak również całego regionu Azji Centralnej stanowi istotny komponent strategii dywersyfikacji kierunków importu energii. Kazachstan pozostaje głównym partnerem handlowym Chin oraz największym odbiorcą inwestycji zagranicznych w regionie. Celem opracowania jest przedstawienie głównych kierunków współpracy między Chinami a Kazachstanem w obszarze energetyki ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem chińskiej inicjatywy „Jednego Pasa i Jednej Drogi” (tzw. Nowego Jedwabnego Szlaku).

Kazakhstan plays a crucial role in China’s energy policy. China has focused on Central Asia deposit because of its need to diversify its energy supplies. Kazakhstan is China’s largest trading partner in the region, and its largest investment destination among Belt and Road economies. The aim of this paper is to provide a detailed analysis of the future energy cooperation between China and Kazakhstan based on the “One Belt, One Road” initiative. The first one assumes that the Chinese interest in Kazakhstan fairly narrowly centered on energy security. The second one postulates that the Belt an Road initiative creates a perfect business opportunities for Chinese companies to export higher-value clean technology products.
