The article concerns art. 14g of the Act of 2 March 2020 on special solutions related to the prevention, prevention and combating of COVID-19, other infectious diseases and the emergencies caused by them. This provision introduced the possibility of extending the service time of officers of the Prison Service to no more than 24 hours (section 1), guaranteeing a break in the execution of official tasks of 45 minutes (section 2), and this only applies to the execution of the task referred to in art. 2 clause 2b of the Act of 9 April 2010 on the Prison Service, i.e. ensuring order and security in the office supporting the Minister of Justice and the National Public Prosecutor's Office. According to the author, this solution is in line with the goal of u.COVID-19, as it allows to limit interpersonal contacts, and thus reduce the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection. At the same time, the author formulates the thesis that the analyzed solution serves to rationalize the disposition of posts in the Prison Service, which may improve the implementation of statutory tasks by this formation.
