This article aims to show ‘the warriors’ ideology’ of the Bronze Age as a kind of ‘pattern of culture’ having a lot of analogies with the Ruth Benedict’s concept of ‘shame culture’. This issue will be presented from the comparative perspective of history, literature and anthropology. Shame culture, equivalently called honour culture, is an archaic, referring to the collective axiology, manner of functioning of groups and individuals. Regarding to this pattern personal behavior is externally estimated by the mechanism of permanent social control. The shame pattern is based on the opposite values: defilement, infamy and dishonor on the one hand and the desire for fame, prestige and power on the other. Such attitude may also refer to the model of the so called ‘heroic ages’, that is broadly confirmed by numerous heroic poems. ‘Honour culture’model may be an appropriate one for the Bronze Age culture patterns description, assuming the change of interpretation mode and emphasizing conspicuous consumption and destruction as well as power, body and weapon affirmation of that times.
