The essay compares several literary dialogues on confessional questions. It concerns a dialogue between a priest and a midwife written in 1588 by an Austrian Jesuit Georg Scherer, several dialogues by a Polish-Czech writer Bartholomew Paprocki and two anonymous Protestant publications, one from 1630, the other from 1707. The paper examines to what extent the analysed publications may have affected adherents to the opposite confession and to what extent they were intended for their own confession camp.
