Patient’s participation is based on their rights and ability to influence decisions regarding medical care through communication and dialogue attuned to the preferences and potential of the patient and resulting from the combination of the doctor’s and the patient’s knowledge (Castroa et al. 2016). Its importance in contemporary healthcare makes it necessary to identify the factors affecting the scope of patient’s participation as well as the consequences of this phenomenon. Therefore, the aim of the paper is to determine the impact of patient’s participation on trust in doctors. The study proved that participation affects trust in doctors, although this influence can be both positive and negative.
