One of the tasks of governmental administration and local authorities at all levels is to secure the protection means against flood. On the lowest level, municipal authorities are responsible for mentioned above activity. This task is specified within the general act as satisfying common needs of the community. This act is not the only one, which oblige commune authorities to provide community members with protection against flood. This issue is regulated by a number of legal acts including Emergency Management Act, and Maritime Act. Furthermore, district (poviat) and provincial authorities as well as governmental administration are in charge of government flood protection activity too.
