Artykuł odnosi się do koncepcji ciała jako archiwum przeżyć własnych oraz poprzednich pokoleń. Dotyczy to w szczególności doświadczenia traumy, nieświadomie determinującego nasze zachowania, ulegającego ucieleśnionej rekonstrukcji. W specyficznej sytuacji terapeutycznej może dochodzić do rekonstrukcji odczuć z ciała, afektu i fantazji związanych z sytuacją traumatyczną. W oparciu o teorię krypty i fantomu Torok i Abrahama na przykładach pacjentów autorka pokazuje jak ciało staje się obszarem narracji. Opisuje projekt Doriego Lauba nagrywania relacji Ocalałych z Holokaustu hospitalizowanych w instytucjach psychiatrycznych jako przykład „gorączki archiwum”. Archiwizowanie traumy jest specjalnym przypadkiem gorączki archiwum, gdyż doświadczenie traumatyczne, które nie może być zarchiwizowane w umyśle jest poszukiwane w nagraniu. Jest to szukanie archiwum poza archiwum, pomimo niemożliwości archiwizacji.

The article refers to the concept of the body as an archive of own and previous generations’ experiences. This applies in particular to trauma, unconsciously determining our behaviour, and undergoing embodied enactment. In a specific therapeutic situation there may take place a reconstruction of body sensations, affect, and fantasies associated with the traumatic situation. Basin herself on the Torok and Abraham theory of the crypt and the phantom, the author shows how the body becomes a narrative area. She describes Dori Laub’s project of recording accounts of Holocaust survivors hospitalized in psychiatric institutions as an example of “archive fever”.
