Following the collapse of the Soviet Union and independence of the Central Asian Republics, the governments of this region faced many political-security challenges. One challenge was expansion of Islamic fundamentalism. Foreign policy of Iran has been introduced as a factor that has effects in the growth and the expansion of Islamic fundamentalism. The question is, “What is the role of Iran in the expansion of Islamic fundamentalism in Central Asia?” The hypothesis is: “Iran has not real role in this matter”. The descriptive-analytical methods will help to study the role of Iran in the expansion of Islamic fundamentalism in Central Asia.
