Purpose. The aim of this article is to research the church activity of metropolitan Velamin Rutski, which consists in the integration of administrative elements of the Catholic Church in orthodox convents. To reveal the state of Kyiv Metropolitanate in time of Velamin Rutski, uniting dialogue with orthodox hierarchy. Methods. It is used historical and cultural, biographic, descriptive methods. Results. In the article it is stated the biographical data of Velamin Rutski, revealed his innovations in orthodox monasteries, church-government. These changes formed new generation of Ukrainian priests, developed education of the people, their Christian Sciences in XVII century. The research reports about the uniting activity of Velamin Rutski, the state of Kyiv Metropolitanate, the reception of the Union of Brest by polish catholics, public officials.
