The article studies the names of persons with a terminology function in John Exarch’s translation of The Theology. The author analyzes various types of word formation nomina personalia with a special meaning in the research monument, dwells on semantic derivation, which occurs in this group of words, and comments on their characteristic language phenomena like polysemy, synonymy, and homonymy. She also examines their relationship to the corresponding parallels in the Greek original, studies the distribution of separate lexical units in other monuments of Old Bulgarian literature from the same period, traces various types of substitutions at these words in the manuscript tradition of theology.
