The need to carry out research on problems of crisis response operations that are conducted by NATO is presented and justified in the article. The notion of crisis response operations and its genesis is defined basing on NATO Strategic Concepts. The problem situation and consequently the aim of the research as well as detailed research problems that led to establishing the hypothesis have been outlined. The concept of the research will affect the content of the future PhD dissertation.
