The article shows a profile of Władysław Cichorski, who was a national movement activist and an insurrectionists of the January Uprising in 1863. He worked under the pseudonym “Zameczek” from 1861. He was a supporter of The Reds fraction, and a commander of a guerrilla unit, that was called “Zameczek”, from his pseudonym. W. Cichorski, as a conspirator, was a social worker and a political activist. As a leader of his own guerrilla party, he acted in Kurpie and Podlaskie regions, and he finished his uprising activity in the Płockie land. The main action, that Cichorski and his unit participated in, was a battleof Siemiatycze, that took place on 6-7 February 1863. In this article the title topic is presented from historical and sociological points of view. The historical content was drawn up and verified critically. There were analysed the role of W. Cichorski as a leader of a combat group of representatives of different social classes, as well as his attitude to them. There was presented the participation of Cichorski in the January Uprising, submitting verification his nonconformist attitude and his behaviour in conflict situations with other leaders of the guerrilla in the Podlaskie region.
