This article analyzes the of vocational activation programs and their impact on the level of unemployment in Poland. The aim of the considerations is to explore the effec-tiveness of measures taken under the active labor market policies in terms of prevention of unemployment, as well as the presentation of the chosen forms of professional activa¬tion. In the first part of the article presents the status and structure of unemployment in Poland in the years 2003-2012. The second part of the study is empirical and an study of the significance of the various forms of active labor market policies on the level of the efficiency index of employment.
