Z punktu widzenia gatunkowego praca ta prezentuje współczesny tekst literacki bułgarskiego pisarza Ljubomira Kotewa. Porównanie tekstów dwóch autorów skłania do refleksji o problemach bułgarskiej tożsamości.

From the genre point of view this research presents a contemporary literary text by Ljubomir Kotev from Bulgaria. His Gallery of Bulgarian types and characters in the time of Turkish yoke and nowadays (2004) is a parody of a novel by Ivan Vasov entitled in the same way. Kotev has found a very interesting analogy between today’s Bulgaria and the world described by Wasov, even though so many years have past. The analysis of the Kotev’s text proves the abilities of a parody, creating a set of life-like characters that exist in three planes: social, political and cultural one as well. The compression of the two texts mentioned above induces to reflection about the problem of Bulgarian identity.
