Regular intensive study programs in the Polish language and culture have been offered to foreign students at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków for over 50 years now. In this article, the institutional evolution from a small unit within the Faculty of Philology to the impressive contemporary format of an independent Centre within the Faculty of Polish Studies is being briefly reviewed. The extensive scope of the Centre’s activities is presented in some detail, ranging from short-term custom-tailored courses prepared for domestic and international partner institutions to full size MA study programs in language pedagogy and logopaedics (speech therapy).
