Ataki terrorystyczne z U września 2001 r. spowodowały przekształcenia w orga¬nach odpowiedzialnych za bezpieczeństwo państwa w USA. Jednym z najbardziej pro¬blematycznych aspektów tych zmian była reorganizacja służb specjalnych i współpraca między nimi. W artykule podjęto problematykę dotyczącą przeciwdziałania współczesnemu ter¬roryzmowi przez amerykańskie służby wywiadowcze. Zwrócono także uwagę na te do¬świadczenia Stanów Zjednoczonych w tym zakresie, które powinny być wykorzystane przez inne państwa.

In the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on U September 2001 the security services of the United States have undergone transformation. One of the greatest difficulties that this transformation had to overcome was the need to reform special services and their way ofcooperation. The author makes an attempt to analyze the way of operation of the U.S. intel¬ligence services in their fight against contemporary terrorism. The author also draws our attention to the experiences that services should draw upon in their combat against terrorism
