The aim of this article is to show the political system of the Russian Federation and especially to stress the important part of Kremlin in this system. Those political processes that led to the strengthening of the authoritarian system in Russia have been highlighted. One of the key aspects of the following analysis is an attem pt to describe the influence of the president of the RF on the position of the other political subjects in Russia and relations between main actors in the Russian public life. The author tries to answer the question of whether these processes may indicate the evolution of the Russian system toward totalitarianism.
