Energy security at the beginning of the 21st century became one of elementary issues accompanying a broadly understood notion of security in both national and global dimensions. This article features the influence that this problem exerted on the United States’ military policy at the beginning of the new century as US troops have been one of the major recipients of US energy resources due to numerous military campaigns overseas. US ambitious energy policy caused that energy demands has become one of the key issues of American Armed Forces’ modernization. Consequently new potentials of acquiring energy have been noticed such as the implementation of renewable energy resources programme in a military aspect.
