Multidimensionality of the problem, which undoubtedly genocide is, requires attempts to characterize and analyze the causes and consequences of this extreme form of violence. Despite growing awareness and knowledge of society, the risk of acts of genocide, is still very real. In the article there are presented different faces of genocide: Holokaust, genocidium atrox and cultural genocide. These various examples and different types of crime, despite the differences in the course, the method of extermination, the tools used and the reasons, in effect, lead to the same i.e. depriving people of their most important rights – the right to life.
