The article discloses changes introduced into the information agencies market in Poland after the fall of the socialist system. The first group of changes encompasses the current transformed monopolists: The Polish Press Agency, The Central Agency of Photography and The Polish Agency „Interpress” connected with the democratization and modernization processes of these institutions. The second category of change concerns the founding and development of new units in the Polish press agency market, among them, The Catholic Information Agency, The Radio Information Agency and The Television Information Agency.
