The main aim of this article is to analyze the categories of stereotypical image of Polish and German nations on the literary and linguistic levels. The analysis both includes a descriptive overview of Andrzej Stasiuk’s and Wojciech Stamm’s prosaic texts, and provides references to the evolution of a linguistic image of the world in terms of hetero-stereotypical and auto-stereotypical images of Poles and Germans. This paper also examines two novels: Dojczland and Czarna Matka . The author makes an attempt to answer the question of which of the most common Polish-German stereotypes are not mentioned and which are present in the examined novels.
