The author analyses selected examples of realization of the exhibitions concerning Africa that were presented at the State Eth- nographic Museum in Warsaw, the National Museum in Szczecin, the Town Museum of Żory, and the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography in Lodz. She discusses possibilities and ways in which authors presented categories of the real geographic space of Africa, its national, ethnic, and cultural borders. She indicates applied methods in the from of graphic solutions: dioramas, photos, and theatre-like arrangements, as well as the usage of maps, or wall texts, and comments in the form of leaflets, and brochures that accompany an exposition. The author also offers an analysis of the differences resulting from spatial conditions, and character of the collections of each particular museum that are noticeable in the merits of the presented expositions.
