Hausańska rodzina, podobnie jak „czarny islam”, jest wynikową dwóch światów – muzułmańskiego i afrykańskiego. Dziś lud Hausa, który zamieszkuje tereny północnej Nigerii i południowego Nigru, to niemal w 90% ortodoksyjni muzułmanie, którzy utożsamiają się ze społecznością muzułmańską i przejęli niemal wszystkie religijne nakazy i zakazy islamu. Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia najważniejsze aspekty hausańskiej rodziny. Opis hausańskiej rodziny odnosi się do małej i dużej rodziny, narzeczeństwa i małżeństwa. Artykuł opisuje związki poligeniczne, rodzaje związków małżeńskich, a także stosunki panujące w rodzinach, czyli relacje między mężem a żoną oraz między rodzicami a dziećmi. Na koniec omówione zostały częste wśród Huasańczyków rozwody.

worlds: a Muslim and an African one. Today, the people of Hausa, inhabiting the area of northern Nigeria and southern Niger, are almost in 90% orthodox Muslims, identifying themselves with the Muslim society and having taken almost all the orders and prohibitions of Islam. The present article describes the most significant aspects of the Hausa family. The description of this family concerns both the small and the big families, the period of engagement and marriage. It also depicts polygenic relationships, the types of marriages as well as the relations within families, that is: between a husband and a wife and between parents and children. Finally, the present article also describes the so frequent among Hausa divorces.
