The article presents the political views of Leszek Kołakowski in the late seventies and early eighties. It is shown that his views in the age of “Solidarność”, contrary to widespread belief, were clearly non-leftist. Kołakowski rejected not only the socialism and the idea of revolution but also the category of egalitarianism and the notion of social justice. What is more at that time he saw no alternative to the capitalism and criticized all the western leftist movements. At the end of the paper the positive program of Kołakowski is presented.
